Re: [Obsolete] Translating Textpattern to ...

Get it from: https://svn.adora.dk/svn/textpattern/language/dk-da/da-dk.txt
If I do that then I get string like this in the admin interface:
“Udvidelser #Extensions”
“Vedvarende #Sticky”
“Sortering og visning ## Sort and Display”
Isn’t something wrong?
If I look at the file it also has lines like:
article_posted => Artikel skrevet ## Article posted

The problem is, that the comments are note treated as such. For some reason the file is not stripped for comments before it is loaded.
Could someone please explain why these comments are not stripped? Someone in here explained to me while translating the the file, that I could make inline comments in the file by using “#”.

I have manually stripped the file from inline comments. It is here:
http://thomasdamgaard.dk/files/textpattern/da-dk.txt (charset=UTF-8)
I have not yet removed the comments from the file in SVN.

Remember to update the
#@version
line. Otherwise the textpattern admin page will say there’s an update to the language file. Cant we get it into the main textpattern SVN?

That would be really nice. However, I do not know who to contact in order to get it into the main textpattern repositories. I have previously(in this thread actually) expressed that I am interested in maintaining the Danish language file, but for some reason nobody responds.

I hope that someone will read this and do something. It is not a trivial task to translate a language file. And I think it is sad that only few people are able to use it, because it is not in the official repository. The current translation in the textpattern repository is hopelessly outdated and the translations are of embarrassing quality.

If some admin or developer reads this, please make sure that the people with the right influence gets this message.

Yeah, same problem here, no responses so far. I could also just keep my localizations private, but I don’t believe, that localization is a matter of privacy.

I looked up Korean, and it seems that Korean is called different things depending upon where you’re from. Are there any other differences between them, or only in name?

South Korean speak ‘한국어(hangugeo)’, and North Korean speak ‘조선말(joseonmal)’.

We use almost same language, but has some minor differences.
As I think it can be liken to differences with between Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese. (not sure)
No problem in communication but two has different culture in about six decade.

I live in South Korea(Republic of Korea), so I use 한국어(hangugeo) in translated file :)

Thank you.

garin: Thanks. :)

Henrik: I know. Pedro is the one who looks after Txp localisation (setting up translators, etc). I’ve emailed him to let him know/remind him of these recent lang additions/updates.

Re: [Obsolete] Translating Textpattern to ...

Hi,

I would like to draw the attention to the broken TXP help Files on the Server, that are not part of the lang files.
I would suspect it is an encoding Issue due to a mistakenly wrong encoded text file. Is there anything that we can do about ?
See the screenshot below.

Apart from that, I’d like to inform, that I have a final revision of the greek lang file. The translation work in that particular case is very timeconsuming and difficult, as there is not yet a specific term a standard for a particlular english term in some cases.

I’m still waiting for some feedback.

regards, marios
