[request] Import del.icio.us bookmarks
No idea if this possible at all but i like (or better really need) a kind of plugin or script to import del.icio.us bookmarks into txp´s database.
Any ideas are very much appreciated.

It’s wouldn’t be that tough. I’d do it for you, but I’m leaving on a 9 day vacation. But I’m sure there’s someone lurking in here that can whip something up quickly. Drop me a line if no one helps you by then.

Alex, this isn’t a complete solution by any means, but have you seen <a href=“http://nanovivid.com/projects/mysqlicious/”>MySQLicious</a>? It’s a tool to mirror del.icio.us bookmarks to a database, usually for backup purposes—but maybe you could modify it to import to your Textpattern install instead?

@instantok
txp.icio.us does not import the bookmarks into txp database and that is what i need.
@Elenita
thx for the link. that will be very useful. unfortunately i am no programmer and hesitate to play around with MySQLicious. but may be some programmer can help to get it done?

Is there a way to go the other way: export my links to del.icio.us?

Yes. Both importing and exporting involves utilizing the del.icio.us API (there are a few semi-useful tutorials out there, such as this). Basically you’d either be writing a php script that would loop through all your links in Textpattern and send them to del.icio.us or vice versa.

Thanks, Andrew. Know if anyone’s already written such a script? I know nothing about PHP.
