A way to assign any sort of priority to the articles being displayed
I,
I’m, making a newspaper.
On my website www.diariocientifico.com, I have diferent kinds of Headlines (varying in size, image size, or text extension).
I want to assign articles a sort of “priority”, so an article which is a short importance small new, never get’s displayed on the most important Headline, and goes directly to the small headlines. And vice versa.
Is there any way of doing it? Maybe a way to assign any sort of priority to the articles being displayed.
Thanks

Re: A way to assign any sort of priority to the articles being displayed
you can use as well a customfields and sort your articles by this customfield
f. e. assign a for important, b or less important, c for even less improtant to a customfield and sort your articles by customfield and by date. so you get what you want.

You’ll find a number of helpful techniques in the FAQ. You might have to use your imagination and combine several, depending on exactly what you’re trying to achieve.

Re: A way to assign any sort of priority to the articles being displayed
I had a similar issue. Here’s how I resolved it:
http://forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?pid=85552
That organizes articles FIRST by date and SECONDLY by a flag I titled “important”.
Also, just the other day I decided I wanted to make an even more important category on top of the above structure. I did it this way:
http://forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?id=14616
That places an article in the “lead art” category at the top of the page no matter what.
“I like the look of my own text.”

Please don’t double-post. Just ask your questions in this forum, and you’ll get directed elsewhere if need be. :)
