URL's with accents - How can I get rid of them?
Hello,
I’m using the Spanish version of TXP. I have a list of links to the sections in my site, and TXP creates the following type of URL’s:
http://www.mysite.com/categoría/mycategory and there I can see all the articles in that category.
The problem is that I don’t want TXP to write “categoría” like that, with an accent on the i. I don’t want my url’s to have accents.
Is there a way to change this?
Thank you.

For categories you have the option to write the url word/phrase of the category and what appears in the front end
Go to organise.
Click on the category name
In the screen which appears you will see 2 text fields
Article category name ( the url)
Article category title (is what appears in the page)

Ok, I understand what you’re saying, but the problem is not the accent in the title of the category, but in the “directory” that appears before it in the URL.
I have this on my page:

<txp:category_list wraptag=“ul” break=“li” />
, which outputs a list with the titles of my categories, and the links I get look like this:
http://www.mysite.com/categoría/mycategory
I want to get rid of the accent in the “categoría” directory.

It’s in the language file: /textpattern/lang/xx-xx.txt (I don’t know what the name of the spanish file is).
Look for category => categoría and change it there. Then don’t forget to re-install the file (admin > preferences > manage languages > install from file (bottom of page).

I look inside the textpattern/lang directory of my site, and I only have two files: README and en-gb.txt. Where is the spanish language file supposed to be?

You can download the language files from here and upload them via ftp to your languages folder

I have the txt file, however i can’t find the category => categoría text anywhere in the file.
Thanks for your help, anyway
