Display all section's articles on non-frontpage?

Textpattern’s sections are great and I should really just use them as intended, but I’m getting greedy. So is there anyway I can display articles (whole articles, not just a list) from multiple sections on the same page? Basically I want to make a front page that only displays articles from a certain section, so I told none of the other sections to display on the front page. But now I need a page other than the frontpage on which they will all (or a subset of them) display.

The visitors to my site mainly come for one particular section’s content area, so I don’t want to bother them with the rest of my writing and a longer URL unless they really want it.

Re: Display all section's articles on non-frontpage?

And of course I botched the title of the post. It should be “Display all sections’ articles on non-front page?” or “Display multiple sections’ articles on non-front page?”

Using the <code><txp:article_custom /></code> tag instead of the <code><txp:article /></code> tag will call all articles as it isn’t “context-sensitive”.

Re: Display all section's articles on non-frontpage?

Can I get article_custom to show the actual articles, though, rather than just a list of headlines? The documentation seems to suggest I’ll just get a headline list, albeit a context-insensitive one.

Manfre’s plugin looks like it will do what I want if I can just milk the articles out of article_custom.

Thanks for the help.

EDIT: Nevermind, it’s pretty bloody obvious how to do it if you read it right. Thanks for the plugins.

I don’t suppose anyone actually has Manfre’s plugin? The download link doesn’t seem to work.

I think mem_article_custom has been defunct for some time now. chh_article_custom, however, is all shiny.

“article_custom” will display your articles in whatever format you wish. It’s all down to the form template that you tell it to use. If you don’t tell it anything it will use your default form template by default.

I suspect you are now trying to use a plug-in that you don’t need. :(

If apotthast wants all sections, like the thread title suggests, then you’re right. I took the “multiple sections” comment (plus the fact that he was looking at mem_article_custom) to suggest a list of specific sections, but I think I was reading too much into that.
