Trying to use the least amount of pages as possible...

I’m going to try and explain what I’m trying to do here, so please bear with me. Before my site was hacked a month back or so I had what I’m trying to do set up (with the help of someone from another forum). After the hacking I’ve got everything on my site set up except for this.

On my site, the portfolio page. You’ll see I have the main content on the left side, and some links on the right side under the “choose a desination” heading. I’m trying to not make a separate page/section for each “Websites, Logos, and Illustrations”

I want to set up categories so that when “Websites, Logos, or Illustrations” are clicked, it just takes you to Portfolio>Websites, etc… so, like I said I don’t have to make more pages/sections.

If I’m thinking correct here all I need to do is set up three Categories (Websites, Logos, Illustrations) and then for each article, just choose the corresponding category? Although in setting up my categories, do I need to set them up in Article Categoies or Link Categories? If they are in Article Categories, they will show on the home page under “Categories” and I don’t want them to show up there as that is for my blog entries only.

Before when with the help from someone at another forum, they gave me some code that did what I am looking for, and it involved an <txp:if_category name=""> conditional statement that displayed the portfolio page exactly as you see it now, just that when one of the links on the side is clicked it takes you to the specified category (websites, logos, illustrations).

If this isn’t possible to do without the three links being listed on the front page in the “category” section then I’ll just deal with making some extra pages and sections.

Hope I’ve not been to confusing.
