Adding fields to user registration

Greetings,

I want to add more fields (like Date of birth) to ‘Add new author’ form.

Can someone please advise me what are the places to make the changes to add more fields to form

or is there any plugin to do this, I tried Manfre’s mem_self_register plugin, but therez no such option.
