Clone A Site

Hi,

Does anyone know of any easy way to clone a textpattern site. I have a site that I’d like to use as a base for a new site, and I’d prefer not to have to go through copying all the settings and templates manually.

Re: Clone A Site

Do you simply want to take a snapshot of the existing site and then start form there with the new one and from that point on they’re separate, or do you want both sites running at the same time off one core install?

And if the former, do you care about moving content over as well, or do you just want the core stuff (preferences, templates, etc)?

Re: Clone A Site

Just a snapshot of the existing site, and so i’d have to total separate sites. I don’t really care if the content gets copied over or not. Just so long as i’ve got all the settings.

Re: Clone A Site

Briefly:

1. Export the database with PHPmyAdmin.
2. Find&Replace the old database name with a new one
3. Run the SQL on, for instance, a local MySQL DB
4. Modify the config.php
4. Adjust all links within TXP

That should pretty much do the trick. Further info:
