Layout problem after upgrading

I have just upgraded my site to the v4.0.3 and now have problems with the layout. Articles appear to be okay but on the article list the header for article 2 is appearing to the right of the excerpt for article one.

I’ve had a look but can’t work out what is going on and would appreciate any help. The site is at http://www.aholidayinturkey.co.uk/ahitblog

Thanks

Re: Layout problem after upgrading

Start with removing the <a href=“http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://www.aholidayinturkey.co.uk/ahitblog/”>errors</a> from your html. There are lots of strange things in your code. Sorting these out will get you more than halfway there I assume.

Okay I’ll do that now you’ve pointed that site out to me but this blog worked perfectly before I upgraded to 4.0.3 so why should it stop now?

Re: Layout problem after upgrading

I’m sorry, I can’t think of a reason, but what I do know is that incorrect html code makes searching for layout problems a lot more difficult. So no offense meant, I’m trying to point you in the right direction.

Re: Layout problem after upgrading

Thanks, no offence taken. I’ve reverted to the previous version until I sort out the html validation errors. At least the site works again now.

Re: Layout problem after upgrading

See also this FAQ.

BTW, you have some obviously bad code in your template, like <read_more> ... </read_more>.

Re: Layout problem after upgrading

Thanks, somebody else just told me that and I’m looking into it at the moment. It’s been caused by me still learning CSS and obviously getting the syntax wrong somewhere along the line.
