custom fields "per Section" ?
I have a basic understanding of custom fields after reading various threads & textbook, but I can’t find if there is a way to have 10 custom fields “per Section” ?
Can I have custom fields for each specific Section or are you limited to 10 globally?
Is there a plugin to extend custom field features?
Thanks a bunch

10 is the global limit. You might want to have look at the rss_unlimited_categories plugin?

Re: custom fields "per Section" ?
Hmmm, thats no good :)
The plugin you linked didn’t sound like it had any solutions either.
I simply need 10+ custom fields per Section.
This doesn’t sound like it would be too complicated of a hack or plugin to add custom fields to Sections?
Add the custom field settings in the Section admin & be able to call them like < txp:custom_field section=“foo” name=“bar” />
I’m willing to pay for this, any takers?

Sorry, I thought you might be able to do want you want with categories instead of custom fields.

You’d better post this in the Plugins forum then.

Re: custom fields "per Section" ?
Hey doggies, thanx for the tip though, you got me digging more & I was way off. Got’er sorted now I think?
You do have 10 field values available “per article”, just 10 “named” fields globally, so that’ll work even better. ;)
I can at least get my basic values into the DB. :)
I thought what I was originally thinking was awful restricting.
Thanks again,
Greg

Re: custom fields "per Section" ?
I apologize for being so dense lol txp noob :)
One thing I’m wondering about still & can see a problem on the horizon, if its not possible?
Is it possible to pull the 10 values from specific articles (spread across various Sections), to a data table on the frontpage? I can set all articles to display on Frontpage if thats required?
I was wanting to put together a comparison table with all of my article values displayed in a table.
Thats about the only thing that I’m not sure how to do still & at least want to make sure its possible before I proceed.
Thanks again :)

Re: custom fields "per Section" ?
Yep, that looks perfect!
I had already thought of using forms all by myself lol, wasn’t sure enough to do it yet though.
Starting to get the hang of this :)
Thanks again, forms & article_custom should work great.
