TxP fullfilling 5 demands?
Here are my blogware MINIMUM needs
…I think thiese features do the trick.
1. 3 columns
2. Subcategories
3. Recent postings (headl.+ short intro)
4. Recent comments
5. Decent security
Does Textpattern manage to do this ?

I’m sure of all of them except for the subcategories. You can have a category, and then a second category I guess, unless there’s a subcategory plugin?

Yes, it depends on what he is asking I suppose. You can have categories and sub-categories, but you can only assign two categories to a post.

there are a couple of plugins which support sub-categories. TXP to my knowledge does not yet support them on the front end (but it does in the admin end)
The rest of yor requests can easilly be done without any mods/plugins
