Comments not working. Search links not working.
Hi all.
I am completely new to this, I only learned about PHP and MySql yesterday so please treat me with kid gloves! =]
I have managed to get as far as getting my site up and running to a basic extent. I have been through all of the installation guides and managed to sort out most of the problems I’ve encountered so far.
All of the databases appear to have been created properly (but I could certainly have missed something here as I don’t really know what I’m doing)
http://ccgi.mjrutter.plus.com
My main problem is that the comments do not work, clicking on any comment link gives:
“500 Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, support@plus.net and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log”
The default comment in the first post is in the database, and I can see the message text in the admin area, but I cannot get the page to display.
I have not customised anything and this is a fresh install.
I imagine that I have made a schoolboy error somewhere, but I don’t have a clue what it may be.
Search links have the same problem, perhaps it is something to do with linking?
Thanks if you can help!

Re: Comments not working. Search links not working.
You must have set the permanent link mode to /section/id/title, as your permlinks are like this: http://ccgi.mjrutter.plus.com/article/1/first-post. This doesn’t work, but this does: http://ccgi.mjrutter.plus.com/index.php?id=1. So if you set it to messy (in admin > preferences) it should work.
There can be lots of reasons why clean urls don’t work, if you want them, search these forums. Here is a post to start with.
