Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_emff: Streaming mp3
Thank you for this plugin Bastian ! :-)
Just one little question :
You’ve choosen to upload the player via the txp file upload.
I think this is most a part of the site “engine” than a file that should be managed by the end user (and then appear in the file list with the risk to delete it by accident). Is it possible to put it at the top level of the site or anywhere else ? That could be set up in the extension tab (with a default skin, and default dimension it would be perfect ! ;-) )

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_emff: Streaming mp3
The ending “/” are missing in the code to allow XHTML validation.
Correction :
<code>
$out[]=’<object type=“application/x-shockwave-flash” data=”’.$basPlayer.’?src=’.$basAudio.$autostart.’” width=”’.$width.’” height=”’.$height.’”>’;
$out[]=’ <param name=“movie” value=”’.$basPlayer.’?src=’.$basAudio.$autostart.’”/>’;
$out[]=’ <param name=“quality” value=“high”/>’;
$out[]=’ <param name=“bgcolor” value=”’.$bgcolor.’”/>’;
$out[]=’</object>’;
return join(n,$out);
</code>
If some are interested, I’m making altenate very basic but clean skins for emff to integrate easily in a text flow. I’ll post a link here soon.

Hey Niconemo, did you ever get round to the skins?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_emff: Streaming mp3
I just finished to update to version 0.3.
That´s new:
- XHTML-Konform -> parameter-tags
- Custom-Field Support: Name a custom field mp3 and store the file to play in this field instead using the *mp3*-attribute in plugin-tag.
- Reduced the number of attributes.
- player defines the flashplayer (and skin). This attribute accepts txp-id or txp-filename, if you want i use the textpattern filesystem. Or give player=‘path/to/file.mp3’ and the plugin don´t uses the buildin file system.
- mp3 defines the file to play. Like player it´s your choice to use txp-filesystem or not.
- Advanced install under extensions-tab there is a script, that writes some plugin prefs to txp-db. You can edit these one under advanced preferences. Change your player´s skin here saves some work, because you don´t have to define it in each plugin-tag
- Help updated

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_emff: Streaming mp3
I might be mistaken, couldn’t get this thing to work just right, but I believe there might be a typo in the advanced pref skin choice. I believe the emff player field says “emff_standart.swf” instead of “emff_standard.swf” upon plugin installation. It’s the only thing I noticed as being off – I fixed it and all work well. I LOVE the fact that you can now stream mp3’s form anywhere on the net, not just the textpattern file system. Good work and much appreciated!

the human museum (what a name) is right: The advanced install wrote standar<strong>t</strong>.swf into db.
I fixed it and it write now the <strongt>d</strongt>

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_emff: Streaming mp3
I’ve got the 0.3 version of the plugin working beautifully for one page, thank you for your work.
I’m wondering if it is possible to be able to create a page that will display information about the selected file and include the player for it— without having to code a page for each mp3 individually. It seems that the only way to get a dynamically selected song is to use a custom preference, and that only allows for one song in one place, I am looking for the ability to stream whatever song the user chooses.
What I’m looking for is to have something similar to a txp:file_download_list except each link will bring up a page that will display title and description as well as this player.
Is this something that is possible or am I pretty much stuck creating individual pages for each song my user uploads?

I will looking for a methode to play various files (by GET or so). The EMFF has an playlist feature, but its not documented.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_emff: Streaming mp3
This is a great plugin, but I have some questions:
- When I start playing and then press stop, it continues loading the whole mp3-file, even though I’m not interested in listening anymore. If I start playing more mp3’s on the same page this will result in lots of bandwidth going to waste. Is it possible to prevent this?
- Is it only possible to play mp3’s in 44.1 kHz? I tried 24 kHz but the sound played at high speed instead.
Maybe I should ask the author of the player instead?
Thanks again!

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_emff: Streaming mp3
That playing -> stop problem is new to me. I will check it.
The player plays some mp3 to fast, because there is a bug in the macromedias mp3-function, itself.
So this one is not an bug in emff or the plugin, its a general flash one.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_emff: Streaming mp3
Hi is the plugin working on 4.0.3? I downloaded the files, followed instructions but it doesn’t seem to work.
I use bas_flvplayer with no problems.
Checking the page code i can see that the tag isn’t parsed, i just see the bas_emff tag as i put it in the template.
Any ideas?
thx

Mine inexplicably stopped woring. The debug addition to the tag didn’t produce any results either. Does this indeed work with 4.0.3?
The player should be there under the thumbnail: http://www.thehumanmuseum.com/blog/article/the-glottal-crest-of-a-purr
It was there until about a week ago, around the time I upgraded.
