[request] Turn rating system code into a plugin?

On the StyleGala forums climaxdesigns has been working on the code for a CSS and PHP based rating system, similar to the one on StyleGala and similar showcase websites. He’s completed the code, but as of right now, it requires manual creation of new tables rows in the database.

I have very limited PHP and mySQL knowledge, and was wondering if anyone could turn the coding into a Textpattern plugin where a new rating form (with accompanying table rows) is created for each article. For more information and the full coding click here

All the files needed to get the system running can be found at here

the CSS for the rating system can be found here.

I could most-likely get this working. Not until after the holidays though. I’m busy until then. If nobody has taken this on by then I’ll give it a go. Sounds like an intresting challenge. ;)

thanks Jick. I’m hoping to have the site I’m using this on up and running by January (February at the latest), so I’m hoping this will be done by then. No rush though, I just figured it would make using it a ton easier if you didn’t have to manually create the rows and insert the long PHP code into every article page.

yeah, I had seen a previous plugin like this on the forums, but I guess it’s not really working, so I figured as long as this code was posted on SG I might as well see if it can be turned into a plugin

Well they have actually updated their code so if someone is willing to try this then the updated files are here:

Front end (edit: fixed link)

Back end (they have it in several parts)
