Copy a plugin from one install to another?

Does anybody know of a way to take a copy of a plugin from one Textpattern install and install it on another? The plugin in question (waz_admin_hide_fields) is not presently available and I have no copy of the text file. I thought about going in to the MySQL database and copying the info across to the other site but my client is on 1and1 so I have no direct access to the database. Any ideas?

Try dropping this file (rename file extension to '.php') in your /textpattern directory and loading it in a browser.

Do you think something like this might be handy to build as an admin plugin?

And if so, how would you want it to operate?

Nice Andrew. This could be handy if it were a button on the plugin list page. But of course admin plugins don’t work on the plugin page.

Maybe it would be best to submit a patch to place the a decode link right next to the edit and help links on the plugin list.

Re: Copy a plugin from one install to another?

I’m not sure that it even needs changing, It works so easily in the present form, that it would almost seem a shame to mess with! That said, if the plugin list had checkboxes like the articles do, and another option on a dropdown box, it would make life much easier.

My thinking is this: If I have a site up and running using a couple of plugins and have another client require much the same thing, it is much easier to go to the first site and grab copies than to go to the resources site (which is wonderfull!) and search them out one at a time. It might be different if the resources site actually hosted the plugin text files. As it stands, there may be dozens of unavailable plugins listed. If one was able to do this export/decompile to a whole installations worth of plugins in one hit, resulting in just one large textfile to store, that would be totally bodacious!
