Two different excerpts?

Hi all,
Is it possible to have two different excerpts per article – one on the home page and one on the article page? I saw something on bbcnews.com. There on the home page they have a very short excerpt, and then on the article page they have a similiar excerpt which is a little bit longer and more descriptive(the bold text). And then there is the body text.

I can make the first paragraph of the article bolder, but is there a way to automatically add an id or class to this paragraph?
