Is this possible with TXPattern?
Would it possible to create this sort of download area within txp? I’m not sure how to go about it, or where to start, what limitations I might face and so on. I would really like to move the site from e107 to TXP as it’s far more modular and stripped of gunk, than of e107 which is great for a community but harder to manage for an individual site.
Would welcome some guidance and feedback on this
thanks in advance

Re: Is this possible with TXPattern?
From the first look, it should be possible — probably not as elaborate but close, at least for the individual files’ section.
What might be difficult is the categories page. I don’t think that you can display the total amount of files and volume of data or total downloads for a category. Those numbers might be in the database so a plugin could perhaps do it but I don’t think that there are tags for it.
I suppose you know the alphabetical tag listing? Scroll down a bit for the file-related tags.
One thing that I use is that my file categories get inserted in download lists as class attributes and thus show different icons for different categories.

… and you can not upload files > 20 MB with TXP which is not a txp issue but a php/hoster one
for max_upload_size see infophp.php

thanks andreas, and I found out about the file thing, but fortunately ftp saves the day :)
Is there a site that already has a download area like the one mentioned? Would be nice to see some comparison of how deep it can get, I just dont’w ant over complicated, in which case if it’s a lot of work I may as well leave the site as an e107 one.
