... export my articles?
Ok, I’ve started playing with movable type 3. Mostly for kicks, but also because I needed a multiple blog solution for another site I am working on. Sections don’t cut it.
Anyway, in order to test it, I wanted it to have some data. So I needed to import some. I decided to export my blog into movabletype format, and then import it over.
Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be an exporter for textpattern available. So I wrote one. If you have reason to want an export of your txp db into a movabletype format (which most systems can import), you can use it too.
<a href=“http://www.flipsidejones.net/files/export-movabletype.php.txt”>http://www.flipsidejones.net/files/export-movabletype.php.txt</a>
It’s GPL. Do as you will.
Oh, to use it: stick it on your server. edit the lines with the db connection info to point at your textpattern database. Rename it to remove the .txt, so it is just a php file. Run it, and save the output as a text file. The end. It’s dead simple.

Re: ... export my articles?
I need to export an TXP installation to Movable Type. I did ask it first at Movables support forums but all they did was point me back to this thread.
I don´t quite understand, how should I use that export script attached in the first post of this thread and I wonder if it is a bit outdated? I don´t see for example option to insert database table prefix there.
