minismith.com

Here’s my wife’s blog redesign.

minismith.com

I wanted to move her from blogger into txp for more flexibility and performance, although, its a difficult transition in terms of image handling. There are more ways to display images in TXP obviously, but the image upload and posting functions aren’t as user friendly as blogger’s. Many plugins help with this, but its just simply not as straight forward for someone who isn’t as UI versatile as others.

Anyhow, so let me know what you think of the blog, the layout, the navigation, etc.

I’m still kind of wondering if something else needs to be done with the background? Or if I need to consider creating an “outline” look for the columns, to set them apart from the background a bit?

Have at it.

Matthew

Oh yeah, credit : I used one of Stuart’s lovely templates for my blackboard and went nuts from there, so its virtually unrecognizable underneath, but his code is always sweet and clean and a good place to start for someone still intermediate like me.

Also, Thanks to nathan smith for helping me out with the simple viewer stuff.

Can I still thank Mary? She didn’t help me on this one, but if it weren’t for ALL the freakin help in the past, I’d still be at “Hey, you textpattern people who know what to do: what is a section? what’s the difference between article and article_custom?” etc.

That’s totally fantastic. Don’t let my wife see it – it will set the bar way too high when I have to make her a site.

Re: minismith.com

Very nice design!

Was it complicated to incorporate Simpleviewer? I’m thinking about it, but have no idea where to start…
