Google Pack

Google’s done it again… “Pack” isn’t terribly innovative or anything, but the free edition of Antivirus is a bit intriguing.

It appears that the anti-virus software is free for 6 months. Then it’s on your dime.

Yes, they say it on their about page, too.

Purchasing a subscription is optional.

That’s not exactly customer friendly (especially given the main taget group) — what use is an anti-virus software without updates after a couple of weeks?

Andreas, you get a a 6 month subscription to protection updates from Symantec Security Response.

But more interesting is the following note:
*This Norton AntiVirus Special Edition does not include the following features: Norton™ Internet Worm Protection, which stops certain damaging Internet worms at their attempted point of entry.

So who is getting worm spoiled emails on and off, as i do, is not protected.

I recommend AntiVir. The classic version is free.
