Re: InTune Project Site

gangelies -

here’s a few suggestions. i hope they are helpful.

  • confusing navigation – i don’t understand the side navigation… “contents”… since it doesn’t seem to change, shouldn’t that be a part of your main navigation bar?
    • main navigation… legal info… that’s usually a footer link…
    • main navigation… subscription??? is it a newsletter? if so, i would use “newsletter” as the link.
  • increase font size a little bit more…
  • is the NEWS sidebar necessary for every page in the site?
  • with this layout… i would probably go with a 2-column layout instead of three and use a little more whitespace.

as a new user, it’s a little confusing on where to find information… some of the categories are unclear to me and causes me guess what the links are. that’s not necessarily a good thing for new users. i’m a pretty patient user, so i’m usually willing to hunt for links… but as you know a lot of users out there are a little more impatient… meaning if they don’t find what they want easily, they most likely will leave your site.

you have good content. But, in my humble opinion, it just needs to be reorganized into easy to recognize categories. i’m sure you’ve heard of the book, Don’t Make Me Think? by Steve Krug. It was a real eye opener for me. It help me put on the hat of other users and think in their terms instead of my own. if you haven’t already read that book… you should consider purchasing it. it’s a really helpful book.

i hope that helps.

I will second Brian’s comments. Also you should always either have a space between paragraphs or an indent for the first line of each paragraph. That’s a basic word-processing rule which should only be broken if you know what you are doing.

Re: InTune Project Site

Thank you very much for your suggestions, they’ll be very useful to improve the site. Unfortunately the decisions about the organisation of the information in the site doesn’t depend by me, but I’ll try to make something.
I didn’t read the book by Steve Krug, I’m going to buy it.
Thank you again
