get my articles published in a feed reader (ie Sage)

I’m very, very new to the subject of publishing feeds.

I’ve set up a feed link on my mainpage. It is correct according to the feed validator

when using sage (feedreader) in firefox it autodetects the feed propperly and even tells that there are 3 items (which is correct) but there is no update available, so it does not show the article title and body in sage

Do I have to set up a form? If so how do I incorporate it into the page.
am I missing something ? obvious….

I’ve looked at the troubleshooting topic by Kurt Raschke and everything is as described there.

If yhis should be in troubleshooting please move this topic. I only think it is something I’m missing.

Here is my diagnostic.

Re: get my articles published in a feed reader (ie Sage)

try running it thru feedburner and see if Sage likes that

this was a tip from txp user Juanjo Navarro and it worked for me on txp feeds – but I’m also new to publishing feeds

Re: get my articles published in a feed reader (ie Sage)

Thanks nardo

Indeed works like a charm via feedburner.

But that still leaves me with the question why it is not working the textpattern way.

anyone?

Re: get my articles published in a feed reader (ie Sage)

Well, now I’m really lost…..

After doing the feedburner trick described by nardo, I went back to my page, with the original <txp:feed_link../> on it, and tried again in sage.

And…it worked, giving me the correct articles to read in Sage. Strange… It seems like it needed a kick in the a.. which feedburner provided, so it seems.

Well, I think I’m fine now and have look at what happens if I remove the feedburner thingie

Re: get my articles published in a feed reader (ie Sage)

And then the story continues…

I deleted the feedburner feed and now I’m back at the original problem. No feedupdates..

WTF????? sorry, not called for

Re: get my articles published in a feed reader (ie Sage)

rss atom feeds can be a pain sometimes.

as drew states

My immediate solution? I switched the RSS feed to excerpt-only, which I hated to do, but got the feed working for everyone again.

24 ways is a very nice resource, and the wrapping-it-all- up article gives some insight on textpattern.

I switched to excerpt-only to

seems to work
