corrupt install or something else?
I’ve tried a new install of textpattern and put in all the details all the database and usernames, then upload config.php as requested and I get an blank screen with the yellow bar above it.
then I try the main site and get
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in /home/jim/sites/therailbridge.co.uk/textpattern/config.php on line 1
any ideas?

Re: corrupt install or something else?
Something is wrong with your config.php file. On line 1, just like the message says.

Re: corrupt install or something else?
the first line is
< ?php
just as it’s been copied from the output box. (without the space between < and ?)

Re: corrupt install or something else?
Nevermind, whatever it was has been fixed, I made sure the transfer mode was binary (I was using cyberduck and it was set to auto), something must have been corrupted along the way, my head hurts, sleep finally!
