Remove "closed" caption

How can I removed the line.. “commenting closed for this article”. I would rather not display anything.

I found that line in the en-gb.txt file, and modified it, re-uploaded it, but the caption is still there?!?

ex: http://www.aquestionablefaith.com/greater-good

Many Thanks,
stirman

Re: Remove "closed" caption

Make sure you are actually using the modified file. Check Preferences > manage languages and then at the bottom Install from file (experts only). There is says

To install new languages from file you can download them from http://rpc.textpattern.com/lang/ and place them inside your ./textpattern/lang/ directory.

Have you done that?

Yeah, but this time I renamed the file and installed it, and it worked fine… thanks!

Re: Remove "closed" caption

Will there be a way to do this without editing the TXP files in the future? I don’t want to edit the language file for every update (I’m lazy…and I still use 4.0.2).

Thanks,
JM

Re: Remove "closed" caption

I wouldn’t suggest doing that. Wrap your call to comments_form in an if_comments_allowed conditional.

Re: Remove "closed" caption

D’oh! I found the text right there in the article form. Pardon my carelessness. :)

Thanks again,
JM
