Stop comments on a specific article form
I’ve noticed that comments display for all of my article forms, regardless of whether I use the ‘comments invite’ tag or not. There are a few special locations where I’d like to display an article w/o an invite; even though in it’s normal location (using a different form), it should have an invite.
Can anyone shed some light on this behavior? Thanks!

Re: Stop comments on a specific article form
You could create a copy of your current article form template but remove the comment_invite tag. When you write an article that you don’t want the comment_invite to appear on use the “Override form” box in the “Advanced Options” in the left-hand menu of the article editing screen to use your “other” form instead.

Er, turn off comments for the article?

Re: Stop comments on a specific article form
Thanks for the quick responses.
In certain views I’d like to display the invite, however, in other views I’d prefer not to display the invite. The problem is that the comment_invite displays regardless of whether the tag is in the form or not.
Is this how textpattern always works or am I missing something?

You can turn off auto-append comments (which appends the contents of “comments_display” where adequate) and customize when and where to add those tags yourself.
