Textile DTD

Has a DTD file been created for Textile? If not, Dean could you please create one. I’d like to import Textile into Dreamweaver as a Tag Library but I can’t do this without a DTD or Schema file.

Thanks!
Brian

Re: Textile DTD

Textile is not an xml-based language, it’s not even similar. Do you mean the txp:-style tags used in templates and forms? There isn’t one, and I think it would be quite some work to create one and especially to keep it up to date later on.

Re: Textile DTD

Yes, I mean the <code><txp:article /></code> tags used in templates and forms. And as far as I’m aware creating Textpattern itself was quite some work but that didn’t stop Dean from taking the task on. I can’t see a DTD being more work then Textpattern was/is. Once the initial DTD is created it shouldn’t take much effort to update it every once in a while. Heck if he was to provide instructions on how to update it in a step-by-step manner we could do it ourselves. providing a template for future tags wouldn’t be a bad idea either. I can’t pretend to understand the inner workings of a DTD but to someone like Dean and the programmers he has working with him it shouldn’t be that steep of a task. Am I wrong?

You know as much as any of us. So, go right ahead.

I wish… I’m no programmer. I haven’t got the brains to be one otherwise I’d glady take this on myself. I have a hard enough time wrapping my head around Textile. If you do a little digging around you’ll find that I already attempted to create a Textile tag library for Dreamweaver and failed miserably at it.

Creating a DTD isn’t a programming job. The dev team probably has no more knowledge of it than you. And you have the necessary tool to test one; we don’t.

Ok then it’s simple then we need to find someone who’s fluent in XML and understands the inner worksing of DTD’s and then I’ll test the results in DW. I wonder if Thomas Myer is up for a little open source XMLing. ;-)
