1.0rc1 entries to 4.0.2
Hello,
I have a backup text file of my blog entries from my old 1.0rc1 install of Textpattern and I’m having a heck of a time trying to get them into my new installation of 4.0.2. There are far too many to copy and paste them manually and it seems as though the database for entries has changed since 1.0rc1 so they won’t just copy over normally. I haven’t been able to find anything related to my particular situation anywhere so I decided to ask here. I’m fairly certain this would be the correct forum for this. Can anyone set me in the right direction as to figuring out how to get my old entries into my new installation? Perhaps a custom import script? There is import options in the TXP control panel but nothing for importing from an older version of TXP. I would really appreciate any help. :)

Try <a href=“http://textpattern.net/wiki/index.php?title=Importing_Article_Content_from_One_Textpattern_Install_to_Another”>Importing Article Content from One TxP Install to Another</a>. Other users have had success using the copyover script to move between versions in the past.

Out of curiosity: Is there a special reason why you didn’t upgrade the existing installation?

I was not aware there was an upgrade option from 1.0rc1 to 4.0.2…

An upgrade option? I’m not sure what you mean. Regardless of which versions you’re upgrading to and from, the process should be the same.
