Archiving by week and Including Older Articles

Is there any good way of getting TXP to automatically archive by week, so that archives will be in the format “Week of December 30?” Am still getting on my feet with TXP tag syntax, and my PHP-fu is weak.

Related to this, for my purposes: is there any way of including earlier articles? I tried standard PHP include(), which caused my installation to start emitting massive clouds of black smoke, and the workarounds I’ve seen on the forum seem overkill for my purposes: all I want to do is be able to go, say, [txp archive entry=”(entry id)” /] and have it be so. Can this be done within TXP?

Thanks in advance.

I never build an weekly archiv but you can try with txp:if_different.
The attribut format will accept all timesettings of php function strftime()

Can you please be more spezific about that question?

Re: Archiving by week and Including Older Articles

Thanks a ton for the date info — very helpful indeed. Sorry about being vague on the “including articles” thing:

I’m hoping to use Textpattern as a CMS for a weekly company newsletter. The articles in our newsletter often refer to articles from previous issues, and in the current, manually done version of the newsletter, we just copy and paste earlier articles in. I’d like to replicate that functionality in Textpattern.

I think I’ve got it all worked out now, actually, after a while of thrashing around. I’m sure I’ll be back wailing some new questions in a bit!

Thanks again!
