Interoperability between Blogging Tools

A long time ago (in Internet time, at least), Shelley Powers proposed a Common Interchange Format. Dean outlined something similar for the forth-coming TXP 1.1. Dave Winer is now advocating more than a common export format.

It will be interesting to see if the idea finally gets some traction. I definitely don’t see Dave getting behind an Atom-based solution.

We should make clear that “TxP 1.1” was a version idea long before TxP 4.0 was suprisingly unleashed. Point is, upcoming realease (as far as I know) is going to be 4.0.3…though it could just as easily be TxP 8.0 if history repeats itself.

In any case, I would count on 4.0.3.

Re: Interoperability between Blogging Tools

I wouldn’t expect anything like this until 4.1. I get the impression the 4.0 branch will be see mostly small additions and stability/bug fixes.

Stranger things have happened though, as they do love to suprise us with cool new stuff.

Zem gave a good idea of how versioning was going in this reply.
