Plugin Request: Replacing keywords in articles with hyperlinks

I’m looking for a solution that would find a keyword predefined in a database and automatically create a hyperlink for that word or phrase without having to annotate the keyword in the text. In other words I want a plugin that will search and replace a text string with a hyperink.

I know it can be done with PHP but I haven’t been able to figure out how to take scripts that are available on the net and adapt them through a form into Textpattern. Also, from what I understand, this type of operation should be done once when the article is created, not every time the article is called from the database since that would slow the site down considerably.

mdp_TXPiki would work but it requires the keywords to be enclosed [[like this]] to be recognized.

Is there anything available like this?

By the way, I can’t find mdp_TXPiki anywhere on the message board or at textpattern.org otherwise I would have asked about this on that plugin’s thread.

mdp_TXPiki can be found here

Hey Ren, There is nothing per se that does exactly what you are looking for, but I have been looking at but this and it looks as if it could possibly be hacked up a bit to do what you are looking for. I suggested something similar here. I have been to busy to mess with it, but please post if you come up with something.
