Travel Site: www.300c.com

In my attempt to deal with the lack hierarchy or nested sections in Textpattern, I realized that a static site would work best using a section/title url scheme. This travel site, www.300c.com, is the one that helped me figure out a method for developing the collapsible menu that is working so well for the Wild Orange spa. You might notice the similarities in the basic structure of these sites, but if it ain’t broke, why fix it. When the spa needed something as quickly as they did, it made sense to build on what was already working and letting the CSS build the brand and market differentiation.

This site was developed as a portal to generate traffic for external links, so you’ll notice that the quality of the external sites, though branded with similar CSS, suffers because of lack of compliance to modern standards of web design.

The Textpattern portion of the site shows up in the navigation under the heading “300C Hot Rates and More.” Using the same TXP and CSS code (using body id selectors and the menu display:block / display:none attributes) as in the spa site, I was able to reveal a list of both article titles and categories or list only the categories, depending on the section you are in: Feature Destinations or Regions.

I just had a quick look .. great sites! I like the design of both site a lot and added them to the TXP Mag Sites Collection under commercial sites. Well done, bauhouse!

Thanks, alexandra, for the encouragement and for including the sites in TXP Mag. And great idea to give some Christmas gifts to the developers. Where would we be without them?
