CMS Matrix seems to be a bit behind the times, at OpenSourceCMS we try to keep all the sytems updated.
As for what system is best, it depends on the site you want to create. No system fits us all nor will it fit every task at hand. From Typo3 down to CMS Made Simple, they all fill a niche and if nothing else makes each system strive to be better.

Why oh why after all this time Textpattern is still not in CMS Matrix? According to their About info, the makers of a given system need to put in the word.
