Re: error message with posting comments

The submit button is only there after you preview. The other problem is odd, have you modified the default forms in any way?

Re: error message with posting comments

the only modification to a form i have made was adding a couple of <H2> tags to the default article form… its frustrating as i am pretty much ready to make my site live but this is holding it back! cant really see whats causing it…

my site is at www.scottbrown.co.nz/textpattern/

http://www.checkupdown.com/status/E405.html

Resolving 405 errors – general

405 errors often arise with the POST method. You may be trying to introduce some kind of input form on your Web site, but not all ISPs allow the POST method necessary to process the form.

All 405 errors can be traced to configuration of the Web server and security governing access to the content of the Web site, so should easily be explained by your ISP.

Re: error message with posting comments

heres the response from my ISP:

I imagine the page you are posting to is encountering a 404 error.
You will not be able to POST to a 404 error page, perhaps posting to a full URL with
URI will solve the problem?

For example (www.scottbrown.co.nz/textpattern/index.php?id=6#cpreview)

—-> this doesnt really help a lot… still doesnt work, is there a way to bypass the preview and go straight to submitting?

Re: error message with posting comments

I used the “live preview” plugin and it has fixed the problem, thanks for the help anyway!

Re: error message with posting comments

BH,

Are you using the 404 Errordoc clean URL method, by any chance?
