How would I make it shorter?

How would I make my recent article list shorter?

The recent posts are listed with its subject name and some times subjects names are very long. So I don’t want to show that much of longer name. Is it possible?

Help would be highly appreciated.

You can have look to understand, look the recent posts at left side.

Thanks in Advance.

Re: How would I make it shorter?

There are probably many ways of doing this, but one would be to have a custom field for “short title” that could be used if the full title is long. Then have your form output the short title if it is set, and the long (normal) title if it is not.

Re: How would I make it shorter?

If you’re using the recent_articles tag, you’ll need to swap this for the article_custom tag which will allow you to use a form, and so you can use the plugin Els mentioned.

I you mean the sab_substr plugin, the thread to post your question is there. But I think how to make it work is quite well explained in both te thread and the help of the plugin. Just check the plugin is activated in your plugin list and use the tag as explained. ;-)
