Source code mess
Hi guys,
Having been staring at XHTML all day i’m beggining to get a bit boggled eyed with all this wrapping in the page template window and when i view source on the web page. Is there any tactics for stopping the wrap and for tidying the output which is all over the show because of the wrapping?
I’ve been editing in topstyle and then copying and pasting but theres gotta be an easier way….
Or am i just missing something :D

Re: Source code mess
I think Drufesne asks how to have a nice indented source…
It would be nice to have a well-indented code.
I find that the source of my TXP pages has a lot of big empty and blank spaces…
I use upm_insert_tab, but that only helps to indent TXP source.
Dufresne, something you can do is install this extension for Firefox.
Then, when you view your page source, you can click on “Clean up the page…” and the extension will indent all your code in a nice way, so you can read it easily.

Re: Source code mess
!!! Hitting tab when I want to indent in TXP and jumping to the next field will be the death of me! I have heard of integrating TXP with external text editors. Anyone have any luck with this? An export field to XYZedit would be great admin plugin/script…

My plugin, which maniqui linked, allows you to tab in any Textpattern admin textarea as if it was a text editor.

That’s not really possible in a plugin. There is a Firefox extension to do that though.

Re: Source code mess
Thanks guys, sorry for not responding straight away.
I’ve downloaded the tidy firefox extension and it works well.
It’s still a bit of a pain having to copy from editor into the window but just means i’ll have to strive for even less page templates :)
Jeff, i’m with you mate – i must of done that 5 times today!
Mary, the plugin doesnt work with the latest version of firefox only up to 1.0.6 – darn.
Anyone else have any workflow tips or extensions?
Cheers,
Dufresne
