First post on first page - no dates?

Is there any way I can get the first post on the first page, or perhaps all of the posts on the first page to display the dates differently?

Yes. You’d set them up to use different forms, each using it’s own datetime format string. If you want more help than that, you’ll need to elaborate. :)
