content>write, textile messing up formatting

I wasn’t sure wether to post this here or in Textile..

I have been writing my articles in HTML with leave text untouched checked, up until now as a lot of content was copied from previous site.

But now I’m serioulsy trying to get used to Textile so I can teach the other users how to author, BUT on save of an article, the write pane rearranges itself (introduces line breaks in strange places) and the formatting is lost

what am I doing wrong?

There are 2 places where textile can be switched off. One is in “Preferences” and the other is in “Advanced Options” next to the article editing textarea. You should check that they are both on.

Re: content>write, textile messing up formatting

Hi Stuart..

Thanks I checked and it is turned on in both, I think this is a Firefox/overflow? issue. I tried it in IE and it’s working perfectly fine (this btw won’t be a problem as the authors all use IE anyway) ~ but I’m loathe to open it ;)

So does anyone else using FF have problems formatting with textile, basically after I type say even one paragraph when I hit save it reformats the line length and breaks it, which textile then adds br’s to.

Well I’m on FF and not getting any problems with textile. Have you been using an HTML tabs plug-in of any sort? In fact do you have any plug-ins that modify the article editing screen at all?

Re: content>write, textile messing up formatting

Plugins.. I do have the “waz_admin_hide_fields” which affects the write page perhaps that’s it?

not too sure of them all yet, but I am in process of deleting unneccesary ones anyway!

later on my test site I’ll disable them all and re-enable one by one, to see what happens, thanks for your suggestions, I’ll let you know later if that’s it
