How do I upload site to server?
Hello,
I have searched through txp documentation and google, but I haven’t found the answer. I’m developing a site locally on Mac OSX, and I would like to know how I should upload it to the server when I put it online.
I don’t know what features should my hosting provider have, or what should I ask them for… It is also my first site using a MySQL db, so I’m a little lost… Where inn the server should I upload the files? Should I reinstall TXP up there again? What is the correct process and what should I be aware of? I also thought that perhaps TXP was conceived to be a tool to work online, directly on the server.
What do you think?
Thanks!

See FAQ: What are the system requirements?
Textpattern should be installed in a subdirectory of your
public_html
directory. You’ll also need to dump your OS X database and export it to your web host. Perhaps someone here who’s actually gone through the process can provide more details for you.

That’s correct. Because all changes are live, we recommend doing all your tweaking in a test directory and then moving it into your main folder. See Textbook: Moving Installation from Subdirectory to Domain Root on the Same Server.
