Universal Comment On/Off?
There’s an option in TXP to turn comments off, but as far as I can tell it applies to newly written articles rather than articles already published. Is there a way to turn off commenting without disabling it for each post its enabled in?

No. There’s no batch article function available (which this would depend on). You’ll have to do it for each one. You could also make use of expiring comments (they auto-turn off after a certain length of time).

I supposed you could write your own SQL update query if you don’t mind messing with that sort of thing. I had to do something similar once back about a year ago.
