Setup problem--config.php
I am having trouble with setup.
I have copied the code provided into a config.php file and it is located in the textpattern directory as instructed. When I click on “I did it” it just returns me to the same instruction over and over.
I have already deleted all files and started over twice.
I have tried removing the .default from the config.php file and resaving it as suggested in the detailed installation instructions. I have also tried using a new file and deleting the config.php.default file; again as suggested in the detailed instructions.
I have verified that all the info in the copied code is correct and complete.
I use the ftp provided with Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004.
Please help.
Thanks,
dks

Re: Setup problem--config.php
Are you absolutly sure that the config.php that is in the server-side is the one you have modified according the instructions?
I would delete the config.php in the server, and upload a config.php that has been modified in your computer.
Maybe you are trying to modify it directly in the server-side (I would bet that Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 has a feature to edit files directly in the FTP) and maybe that doesnt work.

Re: Setup problem--config.php
Thanks for your speedy reply.
Although you are correct that files may be edited on the server side, I am certain that the one that is there now was created and modified on my computer. I deleted the remote file and uploaded it again to be sure.
I’ve even turned off my virus and firewall just in case they were some how conflicting.

Re: Setup problem--config.php
Resolved!
The problem was in Dreamweaver. I am far more familiar with 3.2 than I am MX. The file I was creating was an html file rather than php. When I opened the file directly from my server’s file manager, I discovered extraneous html code in the file. Deleting this and pasting the provided code took care of the problem.
Thanks again for the speedy reply.
