I've lost the DB I think

I can’t find my sites db i don’t know where it is and whether it’s been forced into another db, but there is no mysql db for my site. I think that’s why my sites acting funny. http://hatfullofsky.com/ the main page is the archives, and I don’t know why that is showing up instead of the main article. Is there anyway I can extract/export my site or something? I don’t know what to do, and I;m worried I’ll lose the site. I often get Internal Server Errors and I believe this has something to do with there being no DB in mysql.

Help, it’s a bit of a crisis of sorts. I don’t know what I’ll lose or what I can do to protect whatvers there already.

Internal Server Errors can mean any number of things. Intermittent internal server errors, or ‘Database Unavailable’ errors, are usually caused by an overloaded SQL server. Either way, it something to ask your hosting company about.

As the post at the top of this forum says, read the FAQ.

Re: I've lost the DB I think

Well according to the host I am running a script which is causing these problems, but the only things I’m running are e107 and txp – thinking about it, it’s only been happening since the upgrade to 4.0.2 but if this was common more people would no doubt mention it. Is it possible the host is talking bananas?

Re: I've lost the DB I think

One of the possibilities is that they’ve oversold the server, which they won’t want to own up to. On a typical server, resources are shared between all users, so that doesn’t mean you’re the one hogging them all.

Tell them you’re trying to fix it, and ask for more info on what precisely is causing the error (a memory or process limit perhaps?), and how much of those resources txp and e107 are responsible for using. A competent system admin ought to be able to come up with at least some estimates.
