Re: [contrib] Pivot -> Textpattern converter

heh. well, I documented the code meaning I left comments on what happens where ;)

how it works right now is: place it above your pivot root folder (the same folder where you see the pivot/ folder), then edit the converter file to the place where you uploaded textpattern, install textpattern first (!!) and make sure the config file contains the correct database information, then run the converter by going to it using a browser. that should do it :)

Re: [contrib] Pivot -> Textpattern converter

Well, I tried this, but my posts don’t show up. I get a lot of errors stating that tables don’t exist. I’m sure this shouldn’t happen, but what am i doing wrong then? I followed your instructions correctly…

Re: [contrib] Pivot -> Textpattern converter

did you first install textpattern to the database, before running the converter script?

Re: [contrib] Pivot -> Textpattern converter

Yes I did.

To be more precise, the script returns the following messages repeatly:

Table ‘drielen_thomas.textpattern’ doesn’t existTable ‘drielen_thomas.txp_discuss’ doesn’t exist

Is it something I did wrong, or maybe it’s the preferences of my webhost? I’m a php-n00b, so I’m just guessing… :)

Re: [contrib] Pivot -> Textpattern converter

quite weird, it does seem that either textpattern wasn’t installed correctly, or to another database. the errors seem to indicate that the textpattern-related database tables don’t exist.

Re: [contrib] Pivot -> Textpattern converter

I just realised something. The database to where the pivot-files have to imported is in another domain than the pivot-files currently. They are on the same webhost however, so I didn’t think it was a problem.

If this is the problem (again, just guessing…), I think the database information I set in the converter-file has to be different. Right now it says:

$path_to_textpattern = ‘/home/drielen/domains/tnt-text.nl/public_html/textpattern/’;

while the orginal pivot-folder en the converter-file itself are in /home/drielen/domains/van16hoog.nl/public_html/pivot/

Hope this helps to solve the problem…

Any of you who have insight to add to this Pivot to TxP user docs effort, please do.
