How to show entry date only once?
Running txp 1.0rc3, I use this form to display the list of latest entries on a section index page:
<h3><span class=“date”><txp:posted format=”%B %d, %Y” /></span></h3>
<h3><txp:permlink><txp:title /></txp:permlink></h3>
So the output becomes:
July 10, 2005
Happy Birthday
July 10, 2005
My new iMac
July 10, 2005
A good movie
Since I always have a few entries on the same date, how can I make the date show only ONCE when there are two or more entries?
Like this:
July 10, 2005
Happy Birthday
My new IMac
A good movie

use the rss_suparchive plugin. it’s very customizable and will do exactly that.

paularms – I tried to use the rss_superarchive plugin to accomplish this but it seems that I can’t because when you use the “form” attribute in the tag it won’t let you use “showdate” so it can’t provide that solution.
Am I missing something? Has anyone accomplished what belleliu was hoping to do?

zem…that works somewhat for me, but again comes up a little short. I need to be able to group the posts by day and then I want to put a border around it like:

| article1
| article2<br/>
———<br/>
———<br/>
| 10/05
| article3
| article4<br/>
———<br/>
from my understanding of if_different it wouldn’t be able to provide this. Any suggestions?

Well, you can try using Alex’s plugin, zem_nth, along with if_different.

Well personally I would forget the border and not use a plug-in but that’s just me. I’m sure you could style them really nice without it and you would learn more about TXP instead of going for the easy option. :)
