Just to let you know… this Flash Satay plugin does not validate.
Here are the wonderful errors that were output:
Line 67, column 66: cannot generate system identifier for general entity “FSmovie”
Line 67, column 73: reference not terminated by REFC delimiter
Line 67, column 73: reference to external entity in attribute value
Line 67, column 89: cannot generate system identifier for general entity “FSscaleMode”
Line 67, column 100: reference not terminated by REFC delimiter
Line 67, column 100: reference to external entity in attribute value
Line 67, column 109: cannot generate system identifier for general entity “FSalign”
Line 67, column 116: reference not terminated by REFC delimiter
Line 67, column 116: reference to external entity in attribute value
Line 68, column 51: reference not terminated by REFC delimiter
Line 68, column 51: reference to external entity in attribute value
Line 68, column 78: reference not terminated by REFC delimiter
Line 68, column 78: reference to external entity in attribute value
Line 68, column 94: reference not terminated by REFC delimiter
Line 68, column 94: reference to external entity in attribute value
I don’t know if there is a way to make this work, but validation IS part of the whole Satay deal.

Re: [archived] txp->flashsatay
Which site did you test this on?
I didn’t change any code of the Object tag so I don’t get why i doesn’t validate..
I will have a closer look to this.. thanks for your report..
much apprecitaed.

Re: [archived] txp->flashsatay
On my own site, but I have since removed the flashsatay tag so that it still validates. If you would like me to I could put it back up…
Let me know.

Re: [archived] txp->flashsatay
I added a the tag into my sandbox I am just playing around….
XML seams to be very strict about the characters & and =
This is strange as I am using them inside a attribute
That means any call to a object data property that contains apersand is invalid…
very strict… what’s the reason for this…?
Well there are ways to overcome this.. I am currently trying to solve the problem.

Re: [archived] txp->flashsatay
All ampersands in a page, regardless if in links or in parameters, should be encoded as entities (“& amp ;” or “& # 38 ;”). This issue usually turns up twice or thrice per instance in the validator report.

Re: [archived] txp->flashsatay
I found a workaround… i’ll post it… en seguida! right away…
But this makes it hard to use any kind of script that got written in pre XHTML times..?
that uses GET Parameter? Or am I missing something…

Re: [archived] txp->flashsatay
Well, you either use a pre-XHTML script and provide an adequate pre-XHTML header (e. g. HTML 4.01 etc.), or you convert it to XHTML which means encoding all ampersands. All it takes is to change the outputting lines – no changes to how the script works are necessary.

Re: [archived] txp->flashsatay
Thank you that did the trick.. GREAT!!!!
And Just to let you know i am XHTML CSS Newbie..
so I am still learnig… great thanx for the info I will post the fix you provided… in a few minutes…
it now validates in my sandbox
I now got version 1.01 up and runnig… thanx everybody
one more thing… :-) I still need help in is:
How can I get the background of the object show the color I want… if I use the bgcolor attribute on the object tag it will work (safari) but it will be invalid XHTML… is there another way?
For now I left the option in there… so if you set bgcolor it will be invalid XHTML …
Maybe some CSS trick does it? I can always do it per actionscript but.. hmm.. I would like to avoid that.

Re: [archived] txp->flashsatay
This is great Max. Mine validates as well now! Nicely done.
I am still having trouble, with trying to load images dynamically into the flash slideshow I have that is being created by your flashsatay… I know run level is supposed to help, but so far I just don’t get how to make it work.
Thanks for all your work!
