Output image author

Is there a tag or plugin to output the author associated with an image, when that image is used as an article image?

Under the content -> images tab, there is an “author” column. What is this, if not the “author” of the image?

That is correct, images do have an associated author, even as far back as v. 1.19g. However, there is no built-in way, yet, to output this info. A plugin could easily do it though.
