Installation trouble
I’ve created a database (but it’s my first time so worried I had missed something, I’ve gone through the user manual for cPanel three times) and I’ve uploaded the textpattern folder to the public_html folder in the root folder on the server – but I keep getting this error message “config.php is not ok or not found. If you would like to install, go to [/subdir]/textpattern/setup”
I’ve deleted and installed a few times and read through the textpattern manual, I’m sorry but I’m at a loss as to what to try next.
What other info is needed to help me diagnose this problem?
I’m on OS 10.3 using Panic’s Transmit 2 uploading Textpattern 4.0.2
I’m using asmallorange.com for hosting
thanks

Re: Installation trouble
As the message says, something is wrong with your config.php file. Either it’s not there at all, it’s in the wrong place, or doesn’t contain what it should.
The instructions regarding config.php are here.

Re: Installation trouble
I was typing mydoman.com/textpattern when I needed to type mydomain.com/textpattern/textpattern
Now hopefully the rest will go smoothly :-)

Re: Installation trouble
Ok, I made it to the first page in the processs but am now seeing this: “Checking database connection…
Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user ‘fphoto_u1’@‘localhost’ (using password: YES) in /home/fphoto/public_html/textpattern/textpattern/setup/index.php on line 187
Can’t connect to database”
I’m communicating with my host, but thought maybe someone here might have an idea.

Re: Installation trouble
You’ve either incorrectly entered your username or password, or your user isn’t allowed access to that database.
