recent_comments_grouped Released
I’ve just released a plugin that is a port of a WordPress plugin. IT adds a twist to the recent comments style plugin by grouping comments by entry.

I’m using this on a draft design I’m working up, and it works great as a way to show both recent comments and links to recent articles (assuming they have a comment). Nice work!

Thanks. As I indicated, it’s a port of a WordPress plugin so most of the funtionality is not mine… but I did have to hack and slash to eliminate WP-specific functions and database calls. :-) I liked it too much not to bring it with me.

Nice plugin i like to use.. but i can not install it. Error notice is:
Notice: unserialize(): Argument is not a string in /www/htdocs/txpm/textpattern/include/txp_plugin.php on line 155
Any idea what is going wrong? I use TXP 4.0.3.

This looks like a very handy plugin. Just some suggestions:
- put the txp-tag in the help. actually, the plugin is inserted by using
<txp:get_recent_comments no_comments="10" comment_lenth="200" max_comments_per_post="6" /> - it would be nicer, if the name of the commenter is a link, and not the comment. this is important, once you have longer excerpts
- if the comment is shorter than the excerpt, the “…” will still be added.
- it would be nice to add optional further informations, as the total number of comments for the posting, but also the timestamp of the comment
- have you thought of integrating the gravatar-feature into this plugin?
Btw: could you just check the urls in your first posting? there are some dead links.

Does this plugin still exist? Some links are dead, and the plugin appears corrupted?

I think Aaron moved to WP and the link to the plugin is dead. Would be great if someone could take over the plugin because it is really handy. I use it on Txp Mag and still have the code. So if someone likes to take it over i can send the code….and here the binary
