No default front page?

I have installed Textpattern and everything seems ok as far as the diagnostic page goes – but if I click on the the tab that says “view site” it will only spawn a new browser window and shows the “write” page under the “content” tab. I have created some small files to populate the site and made them live on the front page, but they do not show up anywhere except the “articles” page.

I would imagine I am doing something really silly but I cannot find my error in any of the written material on textpattern so far. A clue here would be most helpful.

It looks like you have set in Admin > Preferences ‘domain.com/textpattern’ for Site URL. That should be ‘domain.com’.
