Permlink Question

Still getting my feet wet and used to Textpattern here and you all will probably get tired of me before you get used to me. Sorry.

In writing a plugin, I’d like to get the permalink for an entry. I know I could use <txp:permlink /> in a template and theoretically that means I could use permlink() in the plugin, except… I believe that function is reserved for use inside “The Loop” (excuse my WordPress terminology). How would I get a permalink inside a recent comments plugin?

Re: Permlink Question

Use permlinkurl_id($ID) (the id of the article).

Re: Permlink Question

Awesome. I figured that out about five minutes ago and have just finished the plugin. What is the standard operating procedures on releasing a plugin for general consumption. I’ve posted on my blog but figured others could use it too?

Re: Permlink Question

You can create a new thread in the plugins forum, where users can discuss usage, report bugs, etc.

If you go to the resources site, contact the admin to get an account (just send a quick email), and you’ll be able to post about all your plugins (just check the instructions on the basic format to use). :)

As an example, for one of my plugins: forum thread, resources site
