4.0.2 Files>Existing files, file missing ?
Dumb question… how is generated the files listing un content/files/existing files ?
I just uploaded a file to my (custom) file directory, and it doesn’t appear in the list.
I’m sure I’ve missed something…

When you upload a file then go to the Files tab there should be an extra box at the top. I forget exactly what it says but it’s something like “Available Files”. It should give you a drop-down listing the new files. You need to click on one to be taken to the normal “details” screen.

That’s the thing… in that dropdown there are all the files in my files repertory, but not the one I just FTP. I wasn’t sure this was a bug though…

Are you saying that you uploaded a file to the /files/ directory using FTP, not via the browse/upload buttons on the content -> files page?
If so, I don’t think Txp has any way to track that it exists. You have to upload it via Txp.

That’s what the extra box is for Reid. If you FTP the files this extra box appears to say that there are files in the directory which haven’t been “attached” to TXP yet. Seems not to be working properly for Jeremie.
Jeremie – I’ll FTP a couple of files and see if it still works properly for me.

Hmm. I’d already created a “files” directory before this capability was added to Txp, and had quite a few already there. But they’ve never shown up in admin, though. So I assumed you had to upload it through the interface for it to be listed there.

I uploaded 5 or 6 files to my site via FTP and the extra box appeared (Existing files) and I could “attach” them without problem so I’m thinking it’s something your end Jeremie. Do you have any admin side plug-in relating to files?

Ok I just found it. I had a ç in the file name, and TXP (or the FreeBSD OS) didn’t liked it. With the ç gone, it appear in the dropdown.

I’ll have to remember that Jeremie. I’m on FreeBSD OS myself. ;)
Out of curiosity would TXP allow you to upload it through the TXP upload?

I got a ad_add error while doing it (after a while), but nothing else. But it may be the size of the file (2.5mb)…
